Tuna Harbor Park

OK, any couple that has lived around San Diego for over a year should have a photo taken by the statue of the Sailor kissing the nurse. The statue “Unconditional Surrender” which represents a famous photo taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt of a sailor kissing a nurse in Time Square, New York City 1945, was dedicated to the city of San Diego. Without surprise, this representation of hope and freedom is a popular choice of a photo background for tourists visiting the park.

Note that due to high popularity of all the surrounding attractions, including the famous statue, this area has a high level of foot traffic. If you want a good solo shot with the Sailor with no one else around you, prepare to wait for your turn or some creative usage of photoshop.
In proximity of the park, the USS Midway Museum provides an impressive backdrop and a couple hours edutainment for those who venture inside. Also located nearby is the USS San Diego (CL-53) World War II memorial.

I only suggest The Fish Market if you like sushi or oysters. Even though I have seen a lot of good reviews, these two choices are the only ones I would recommend when it comes to this restaurant. I would be more than happy to hear about your experience.
