Stan’s Donuts Westwood

Being from the east coast I was extremely excited when Krispy Kreme Donuts opened their first store here in San Diego.  Those donuts were so good to me that when a friend of mine told me she knew where we could get some donuts that were better than Krispy Kreme I was beyond skeptical.  Better than Krispy Kreme?  This I have to taste, so we picked a day to ride to L.A. and get our grub on.  My friends Arlie and Ed agreed to show Gonzalo, Janka and I a few must see spots in their college stomping grounds. Our first stop was Stan’s Donuts. 

First of all, let me tell you there is nothing like having a couple of Bruins who know their way around L.A. show you what’s what in that town.  Stan’s Donuts is located just outside of UCLA, on the corner of Weyburn and Broxton Ave in Westwood.  This is the corner where most of the Hollywood premiers happen and it’s a great spot to start your day in L.A. Why not begin with a Donut and a cup of joe? As usual Stan was there to reminisce with and share a few laughs.

I stick with the glaze but a lot of people swear by the peanut butter and banana pocket with chocolate chips.
