Ok, so you read the Stan Donuts entry and thought “I could use some fatty sweetness in my life”. You were hesitant though, “I can’t drive all the way into busy L.A. for some donuts. Even if they are the best donuts I may ever taste in my life, that’s a lot of contribution to global warming for some sugar”. You struggled, wanted to go, and then Janka hit you with the Santee Alley article and… “I am there. I don’t need anything else. I”ll fuel up with some sugar and hit the shops”. For the ladies, I could see it. That would probably work, but you aren’t going to want to carry all those bags alone. If you are going to take your man, you need another pit stop. Donuts will not do it for us. So if you are planning a trip to L.A. , here is one more cool fuel stop. Thai original BBQ and Restaurant.
Summer is my favorite season.
I have been known to put up to 3 Serrano peppers in my salsa.
My barbeque sauce contains crushed red peppers and Tabasco amongst other things.
I like my food spicy and Thai restaurants know how to do spicy. But before I go into the food, let me say, I don’t want to hear no complaining about the parking space size because Ed was pushing the Armada and got in just fine!
This is your spot. It looks small from the outside but there is plenty of room inside. We all started with the Chicken Soup A La Thai B.B.Q. Slices of chicken with mushrooms and tomato in creamy hot and sour soup with a touch of Thai spices. Off the chain, this was my first time tasting anything like this; check the pictures. Try it out. Their BBQ is to die for and that is what both Ed and Gonzalo had. As for myself, I went for the Spicy Beef; the serving was large, I didn’t finish it and it didn’t disappoint. Very flavorful and the spices didn’t over power the flavor of the sauce or beef.
Janka had the Phad Thai rice noodles with shrimp, bean sprouts and egg, scrambled in a mild space sauce. She substituted chicken for the shrimp. Again, we received an ample flavorful serving that met our expectations. Arlie had the Thai B.B.Q. Chicken Half of our house special chicken, served with house sauce. Again wonderful, with a delicious house sauce.
Pleasant atmosphere, dimmed lights…; we laughed and reminisced about the past, present, and future before hitting the shops.
